At Accerta, we are dedicated to meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous communities. We recognize the profound impact of residential and day schools and the importance of advancing economic and cultural reconciliation through thoughtful actions every day. Our approach centres around three key priorities:
1. Supporting Economic Reconciliation
We are committed to building partnerships with Indigenous businesses and communities, fostering economic growth and sustainable opportunities.
2. Advancing Education and Corporate Responsibility
Guided by Call to Action #92 from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Accerta embeds the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in our policies and practices. As a proud member of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, we actively collaborate with Indigenous organizations to strengthen our approach.
Accerta is also pursuing the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) certification program through the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. This certification program is aligned with the strides we are making in leadership, employment, business development, and community relations.
3. Delivering Programs in a Culturally Respectful Way
We understand the importance of cultural sensitivity in program delivery and continually seek to improve our services to ensure they respect and honor Indigenous traditions, perspectives, and needs.
Honouring the Land We Call Home
Accerta is proud to be headquartered in Toronto, a city that has long been a gathering place for Indigenous nations. We acknowledge that Toronto is located on the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. It is also part of Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
As we continue our journey toward truth and reconciliation, we are honored to work, learn, and grow on this land.
An Invitation to Partner and Grow Together
Accerta is committed to walking this path of reconciliation together. We invite Indigenous communities, businesses, and leaders to explore opportunities to partner with us. Whether through collaborative business ventures, cultural exchanges, or learning sessions, we believe in the power of working together and learning from the community to create positive, lasting impacts.
Building Stronger Futures Together
Accerta’s journey toward reconciliation is ongoing. We continue to learn and grow, honouring Indigenous communities and seeking to create lasting positive impacts through all that we do.
